Press conference on the result of Olympic enviromental construction in Xicheng District was held in Shicha Hai Hall on July 21st. Caochang Sheng, member of the standing committee of Xicheng District, and journalists from XinHua News Agency, CCTV, GuangMing Daily, Beijing Daily, Beijing TV Station and other media agencies attended the conference.
 At the conference, journalists learned that the extensive renovation project of Xidan Cultural Square has been completed. Xidan Pailou, central fountain and the overhead corridors also made their debut. The roof renovation project in Gulou area of Xicheng District and the renovation project in Shicha Hai area are all officially completed. Journalists visited Shicha Hai, Huoshen Temple, Gulou, Yandai Byway on tricycles.
 Journalists paid close attention to Shicha Hai area. In recent years, Xicheng District emphasized the projects of "Two Waters"(the Front Sea and the Back Sea), "Three Points"(Huoshen Temple, Huxin Island, Guoshou Jing Memorial Hall), "Three Areas"(lake-surrounding area, Yandai Byway, Yinding Bridge triangle area) and started the extensive renovation project.
 Aiming at the old and shabby condition of Gulou area, Xicheng District started the roof reconstruction project, which repaired 273 rooms and 4800 square metres roofs.
 Because of the renovation, the appearance of Shicha Hai area has been greatly improved, which has the characteristics of both a modern city and an ancient capital.
