　　西城区是首都功能核心区，是全国政治中心、文化中心和国际交往中心的核心承载区，是历史文化名城保护的重点地区，是展示国家首都形象的重要窗口地区。辖区面积50.7平方公里，常住人口109.5万。2025年1-12月实现地区GDP6314亿元，居民人均可支配收入11.09万元，连续三年获得“中国最具幸福感城区”。

　　As a core functional area of Beijing, Xicheng District is a key carrier of the national political center, cultural center, and international communication center. It is a major area for the protection of famous historical and cultural cities, and an important window for showcasing the image of China's capital. It covers an area of 50.7 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 1.095 million. In 2025, the regional GDP reached 631.4 billion yuan, and the per capita disposable income of residents was 110,996 yuan. It has been awarded the title of "Happiest Urban Districts" for three consecutive years.

　　Xicheng District is the office location of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National People's Congress, the State Council, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.  Xicheng District serves as the central hub for national politics and high-level international engagements, with 95 organs and units at or above the deputy ministerial level.

The National FinTech Demonstration Zone, as known as FinTech New Area, has attracted 269 leading FinTech companies with total registered capital over 140 billion RMB. The Demonstration Zone for World-class Digital Economy Benchmark City is growing rapidly, with the digital economy scale surpassing 240 billion RMB in 2024.
